In addition to the training and showing program, rescue horses and retired horses are an important facet of the operation. Mason Bay Farm believes in promoting the variety of meaningful ways that horses can enrich a person's life by offering lessons in grooming, horse handling, and walking. No need to ride to enjoy these wonderful souls!
Kathy grew up in Minnesota and rode with Debbie Kemp and Keiri Kaneps. After graduating high school, she became a professional and rode for the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club showing Morgans. This culminated in winning Reserve World Champion High Point Morgan Working Hunter in 1987. Deciding that she wanted to continue working with horses in a more suitable climate, she moved to California in 1990 and worked in a variety of positions within the A circuit hunter/jumper world including barn manager, instructor, and trainer. Working for trainers such as Linda Hough, Diane Yeager, John Ducharme, and the Karazissis family at Far West Farms provided a solid background in quality horsemanship.
